If you successfully unlock an iPhone and it still can’t make calls, use data or states “no service” on top left then you must call the carrier to authorize the SIM card to work on that iPhone. Carriers that may require this:

  • Metro PCS (always)
  • AT&T (sometimes)
  • Verizon (sometimes)
  • T-Mobile (sometimes)
  • CAN make calls.
  • CAN use data/Internet.
  • CAN update iOS via OTA (over the air, by going to Settings – About – Software Update).
  • CAN reset network settings.
  • CAN change between any Apple IDs.
  • CAN turn off iPhone.
  • CAN restart iPhone.
  • CAN install and uninstall any apps.
  • DO NOT factory reset iPhone (will need to unlock again),
  • DO NOT update iOS via iTunes, phone wired to PC (will need to unlock again).
  • DO NOT change SIM cards too often (may need to unlock again).

This SIM Unlocker supports the following technologies:

  • GSM -> GSM
  • CDMA -> GSM

This SIM Unlocker does NOT support the following technologies:

  • GSM -> CDMA
  • CDMA -> CDMA

Unfortunately these carriers are NOT supported by this SIM Unlocker:

  • Tracfone
  • Straight Talk
  • Total Wireless
  • Simple Mobile

EXCEPTION: If above carriers issue an iPhone that uses “GSM -> GSM” and/or “CDMA -> GSM” technologies then this SIM unlocker will be able to successfully SIM unlock it.

Troubleshooting

  • Ensure iPhone is updated with the latest iOS (Settings – General – Software Update).
  • Ensure SIM Unlocker has latest ICCID code loaded on it and try again.
  • Visit ICCID Code page for latest code.
  • Be sure to visit Instructions page to learn how to update ICCID code on SIM Unlocker.

Please be sure that you have covered the following tasks:

  • Ensure iPhone is updated with the latest iOS (Settings – General – Software Update).
  • Update SIM Unlocker with latest ICCID Code.
  • Ensure iPhone is not blacklisted.
  • Ensure iPhone is not iCloud lock bypassed via jailbreak.
  • Ensure iPhone uses GSM technology (unlocker does NOT support CDMA technology).
  • Ensure carrier SIM card is NOT from these carriers (they are not supported): Tracfone, Straight Talk, Total Wireless, Simple Mobile. (Unless iPhone is on “GSM -> GSM” and/or “CDMA -> GSM” technologies.
  • Ensure chip is not scratched, bent or damaged in any way.

Unlock again using SIM Unlocker and be sure you aren’t doing these “CANNOT DO” tasks:

  • DO NOT factory reset iPhone (will need to unlock again),
  • DO NOT update iOS via iTunes, phone wired to PC (will need to unlock again).
  • DO NOT change SIM cards too often (may need to unlock again).
